Hawarden Castle Wedding Photographer
Tara & Charlie
As a Hawarden Castle wedding photographer, I had the massive privilege of documenting this extra special wedding in stunning and sunny (woo hoo!) North Wales. Imagine having your very own castle to get married in?! This kind of fairytale doesn’t happen that often & being the Hawarden Castle wedding photographer for Tara, who grew up within these walls, felt like real life magic. Not only is Hawarden Castle an impressive wedding venue but it’s also a cherished family home and this feeling really resonated through the day. Tara and Charlie, with the help of the ace planner Skellon Events and an A-team of suppliers, made this wedding a celebration of memories, heritage, the beautiful location, and of course, their family and friends.
From getting ready in your childhood home, to the Hawarden village church ceremony, to the drinks reception nestled within the castle ruins, a really delicious meal in the marquee and an awesome DJ set by the bride’s Dad and brother, every moment was super-personal, unique and pure class.
As their Hawarden Castle wedding photographer, Tara and Charlie chose me for my natural, storytelling style. It was my huge honour to capture the classic beauty and real emotion of their wedding day, in unposed photographs that I know will hold meaning for lots of Hawarden Castle generations down the line.
One of my favourite moments to capture was when the mother of the bride and her sisters, also bridesmaids, saw Tara all ready to go and get married in her timeless Halfpenny wedding dress. You can see and feel the love in these frames. To be honest, Tara made my job pretty easy because she just looked soooooo good – effortless elegance and the perfect choice for a wedding dress that totally worked with the castle vibe.
This wedding was not only a celebration of love between Tara and Charlie but also a testament to the incredible bond shared by their family and friends. As a documentary-style Hawarden Castle wedding photographer, I captured the essence of this in natural photographs of candid moments – there’s a cool, laid-back vibe, colourful, vibrant moments, big smiles and a whole lot of love.
When we went for a wander to take a few portraits of the bride and groom we kept it casual and worked that stunning Welsh countryside and evening light to create some relaxed but stunning shots that I hope will go up inside those castle walls!
So all that’s left to say is a hug congratulations to the frankly marvellous Tara and Charlie. A special shout out to Tara’s bro and his tartan trousers. Huge thanks to everybody for being such a dream to work with and thank you humbly for choosing me to be your Hawarden Castle Wedding Photographer. These are memories I’ll carry with me for a long time.
