Castello Wedding in Tuscany, Italy

Emma & Liam’s Tuscany Castello Wedding made destination wedding photography dreams. Stunning scenery and a total cheese and wine fest with the best people. Evviva gli Sposi!

When Emma & Liam emailed us from their home in New Zealand, to ask if we fancied photographing their Tuscany Castello wedding in the Italian countryside, our cameras practically jumped into the suitcases themselves. Then we started googling Castello di Bibbione and excitement levels went off the charts. Perched on top of one of those rolling Tuscan hills, with panoramic views, Castello di Bibbione has to be one of the most romantic and dramatic wedding venues that we’ve been lucky enough to shoot at. And the textures and tones of that Italian stone – backdrop heaven!

The awesome thing about a Tuscany Castello wedding is that you get to be king and queen of the castle for a few days and it’s basically a 4 day holiday for the bride and groom and all their favourite people, which creates epic party vibes and a super-relaxed wedding day. And that’s exactly what Emma & Liam told us they wanted it to be : fun-filled, relaxed and happy days with their closest friends and family. Just before we flew to Florence, Emma emailed to say that they’d booked a spot for me to go wine tasting with the groom and his ushers and have lunch at a vineyard on the wedding morning. These guys knew exactly how to throw an Italian wedding! What a way to kick-start the celebrations. Wine and cheese were pretty crucial wedding themes and when I asked Emma what she was most looking forward to she said, “The cheese! And the food!” My kind of bride!

Planning a wedding from the other side of the world in a different time zone would have been a bit tricky without the incredible Wiskow and White wedding planners, who helped translate Emma & Liams’ ideas into real-life amazingness, with a fab team of suppliers. We do love an outdoor ceremony and the olive grove was an ideal spot. When Emma made her entrance through those big gates in her Rue de Seine gown I think Liam had a hard time staying upright (especially after all that wine tasting!) The whole day was just immense and ended with the Italian wedding tradition of the bride & groom making their own wedding cake – check out Liam’s cream squirting action 🙂 and then a mega party in the Castello courtyard.

We didn’t want to leave & can’t wait to get back to Tuscany to photograph another destination wedding later this year. So here it is…. Emma & Liam’s Tuscany Castello Wedding in Italy. Grazie mille for inviting us to share such a wonderful day with you all – you’re total cheese-eating legends. xxxx
