Best Wedding Photography 2018

Baby it’s cold outside but we’ve got something to warm those cockles right up to scorchio. It’s only our best wedding photography 2018 : one hundred ish photographs of real life wedding magic. And lots of sunshine. So, make a brew, indulge in a digestive or two and snuggle yourselves down for a full scale love in.

Soundtrack to our Best Wedding Photography 2018

Spotify tells me our most-played songs of 2018 were Bruce Springsteen ‘Tougher than the Rest’ (it got deep), John Fogerty ‘Centerfield’ (Hannah’s pre-wedding game-face song), ‘Rocks Off’, The Rolling Stones, Ben Howard’s ‘Nica Libres at Dusk’ and ‘All Your Love’, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. So, take your pick of the soundtracks, crank it up to eleven and rock out / bliss out to the toppermost of the poppermost, the bestest of the best wedding photography 2018.

Witness the fitness.

Our brides and grooms were pretty damn fine in 2018 and took us and our cameras to some impressively photogenic places. From Villa Medicea di Lilliano, Florence, Italy; to a Georgian manor house on Lake Windermere; and tipis under the apple tree in Whispering Bob Harris’s back garden.

We’ve clocked up a fair few miles in the Golf, photographing weddings in The Cotswolds, Kent, Cheshire, London, Oxford, the Lake District, Suffolk and pretty much every county in between, as well as shooting at Peak District wedding venues closer to our home turf in Derbyshire. We’ve loved returning to so many awesome venues, including The West Mill (what a team!), The Ashes, Hazel Gap Barn, Dodford Manor, South Farm, Normanton Church on Rutland Water, Hassop Hall and Trinity Buoy Wharf. And we’ve been lucky enough to discover Kelmarsh Hall, Silverholme Manor, Mythe Barn and The Granary Estates, to name but a few.

Oh and did we mention Tuscany? Yes, that’s right, folks. We went to the destination wedding photography dreamland that is Tuscany. We spent a weekend in Florence with Ant & Emily at their beautiful venue, Villa Medicea di Lilliano; a wine estate in the Tuscan hills. Not too shabby, eh?! We’re super excited to photograph three more mega destination weddings in 2019, with two in Italy and our first French Chateau wedding. Bring on the wine!!! And the cheese!!!

To compile this ultimate collection of our best wedding photography 2018, we’ve had the huge pleasure of looking back at every one of the photographs we’ve delivered. And our sixth year as wedding photographers didn’t disappoint. It was made mega by our amazing couples and all their fabulous families and wedding guests.

In fact, you almost got a best of wedding photography 2018 with about 1000 images because there was one heck load of awesome right there. 40 gorgeous couples, 32 wedding venues, 19 counties, 2 countries and 1 boat ride. We’ve been lucky enough to capture some of the most precious moments in families’ lives, watch people in love, filled with pride, crying happy tears, bursting with excitement and shaking their thang all over the dance floor. Oh and an usher in his pants. That was special.

How flippin’ lucky are we?! Being invited along to tell your wedding stories is truly the biggest honour and we can’t thank our brides and grooms enough, for trusting us with your memories.

2018 was also a bittersweet symphony for us and our family. Amongst all of these wonderful, weddings jam-packed with joy, we faced one of the most brutal and emotionally challenging journeys, with our wonderful Mum / Mum-in-law, who was diagnosed with lymphoma back in March. We lost Marilyn at the beginning of November. It was incredibly tough to carry on sometimes but our love of people, of families and of capturing these precious moments, which we know become more precious for families as time moves on, kept us going and is the reason that we love what we do so very much. Again, we can’t thank our couples and our fellow photographer community enough for all the support and love you have shown us during this sad time. Marilyn was always ready with a cuppa and excited to hear about all your weddings. So this one’s for you, Mazza. Our tough Geordie lass. With love to you all. Let’s be ‘avin yer 2019!

  2. What a round up!!! I love seeing how your work has evolved and improved year on year, and this is another cracking set of frames, you’ve both smashed it and there’s no doubt you’re both right at the top of your game. On a personal note, I know how tough last year will have been, which makes this collection of work even more remarkable, not only are you super talents, you’re also absolute pro’s and a huge huge credit to Mazza! She would be immensely proud.

Here’s to 2018!!! And I can’t wait to see where 2019 takes you.

Now, I WANT THAT RED MOTORBIKE, and an invite to the new abode!!!!!! 😉
